Product Development Engineer (Electrical)

Location: Totowa, New Jersey, United States; occasional domestic and international travel required, less than 20%.

Salary: $85,600–$125,533 annually.

What you will do

• Define requirements and specifications for chemical analysis processes with applications, R&D, and engineering teams.
• Conceptualize, develop, and test devices involving microfluidic dispensing, spectrophotometric measurements, and related technologies.
• Create and execute improvement and test plans, analyze data, and document conclusions.
• Evaluate materials for compatibility with application chemistry and validate new device designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and subsystem teams to review designs, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance.
• Support manufacturing and field customers, including advanced troubleshooting and tool optimization.

Requirements

• Master's degree with 0 years of related experience, or bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with electrical design tools such as OrCAD PCB, Altium, PADS, or Eagle.
• Familiarity with AC power distribution, industrial equipment cabling, interlocks, and serviceability-driven design.
• Exposure to PLC or control systems, motion control, sensors, and system-level debugging of integrated mechatronic equipment.
• Ability to build and execute test plans, analyze data, write technical documentation, and communicate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Work is based in Totowa, New Jersey, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, or simulation tools.
• MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW experience.
• Experience supporting products through manufacturing and field life cycles.
