What you will do
- Design HVAC and mechanical utility systems for new construction, renovations, and process-driven environments.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing.
- Develop drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and coordinated construction documents.
- Lead the mechanical scope for small to mid-sized projects or major portions of larger projects, managing deliverables, deadlines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients throughout design and construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, lead quality checks, and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5+ years of professional experience designing mechanical systems, preferably in an AEC environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial or industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, applicable codes, and industry standards including ASHRAE and NFPA.
- Ability to participate in site visits, field surveys, RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and construction support.
Nice to have
- Experience with life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food and beverage facilities.
- Familiarity with GMP or other regulated environments.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.
- Experience with plumbing systems, field assessments, or sustainable design standards such as LEED and WELL.
