Principal Product Owner / Architect (AI)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, United States

Salary: $172,200–$236,900 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Own a unified product roadmap and top-level backlog for shared platforms across Pharmacy, Primary Care Organization, Home Solutions, and hirify.global Military.
• Define reference architectures, architectural decision records, integration standards, API contracts, and domain boundaries for cross-segment healthcare data flows.
• Lead discovery workshops, architecture reviews, governance checkpoints, risk reviews, and prioritization across competing stakeholder needs.
• Translate product strategy into delivery-ready user stories, acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements, and architectural runways.
• Guide platform reuse and consolidation across Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks environments while reducing duplication and technical debt.
• Coordinate business leaders, product owners, engineering, security, data, compliance, EA Activation, and enterprise CIO teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience across product management, solution architecture, or both.
• 5+ years of solution architecture or senior product ownership experience in healthcare IT and regulated environments involving HIPAA/PHI and HITECH.
• Hands-on experience with Azure API Management, Event Hub, Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, AKS, Azure AD/Entra ID, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Strong expertise in API design, event-driven architecture, microservices, FHIR R4, HL7, agile delivery, and SAFe practices.
• Experience incorporating AI/ML and generative AI into healthcare product strategy, including RAG, prompt engineering, agent orchestration, MLOps/LLMOps, governance, and responsible AI controls.

Nice to have

• Experience with pharmacy benefit management, specialty or retail pharmacy, PBM claims engines, primary care, EMR integrations, value-based care, or home health operations.
• Knowledge of TRICARE, military health, DoD/VA interoperability, or government health benefit programs.
• Experience with agent memory management, vector databases, MCP servers, AI evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop workflows, and reliability patterns.
• Familiarity with data mesh, distributed data products, federated governance, and enterprise identity and privileged access management.
