Location: Tempe, Arizona or Carlsbad, California; US citizenship required. Travel of up to 20% may be required.

Salary: $141,500–$224,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $176,000–$264,000 annually.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end assembly, integration, and test strategy for satellite communications payloads.
  • Architect and implement payload testbeds, ground support equipment, ground software, harnessing, and interface electronics.
  • Develop payload manufacturing plans, build plans, test plans, procedures, and build documentation through launch.
  • Create and implement scripted payload test procedures and oversee emulator and software interface development.
  • Support integration, testing, anomaly resolution, system validation, and environmental qualification activities.
  • Coordinate delivery of flight hardware, test hardware, documentation, and training to the satellite bus provider while managing schedules, risks, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems, integration and test, or payload test engineering.
  • Experience leading complex test system or payload integration efforts.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft payloads, interfaces, system integration, and test documentation.
  • Experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GSE/GSW development, scalable testbeds, STE architectures, emulators, or test automation frameworks.
  • Experience with environmental qualification testing of spaceflight RF hardware and satellite bus integration.
  • Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for post-data processing.
  • Experience with InControl or COSMOS for payload-level testing.
  • Experience with system-level verification, validation, schedule management, risk management, and program execution.
