Senior Manager, Quality Systems Engineering (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. Candidates must be able to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls and meet US work eligibility requirements.

Salary: $174,050–$239,320 USD per year, plus equity and discretionary incentive bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, documentation, governance, and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Quality Management System.
• Lead the vision, requirements, roadmap, and implementation of the internally developed Digital Quality Management System and its single digital thread for part quality information.
• Lead and develop quality systems engineers and document control specialists, including hiring, prioritization, and capability development.
• Own internal, registrar, customer, and third-party audit programs, including findings, responses, and verified closure.
• Maintain certification readiness across AS9100, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Nadcap.
• Drive document control, management of change, CAPA, root cause analysis, quality data triage, and leadership reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of quality engineering or quality systems experience in manufacturing and 3+ years leading teams with direct people management.
• Experience owning a Quality Management System in a regulated or certified manufacturing environment.
• Experience planning and conducting internal audits and supporting external registrar or customer audits.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949, plus structured root cause and corrective action methods such as 8D, 5-Why, fishbone, and FMEA.
• Experience defining and deploying quality systems software and administering an electronic QMS or document control platform.

Nice to have

• Lead Auditor, ASQ, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Experience with digital quality, digital thread, part traceability, MES, PLM, ERP, or layered process audit programs.
• Experience in additive, advanced, low-volume high-mix, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on ETQ Reliance administration experience.
