Director, Brand Counsel (Biotech)

Location: Fully remote; the role can be performed from anywhere. Occasional domestic travel of 10–20% may be required for team meetings or events. A valid New Jersey license or eligibility for a limited in-house license is required.

Salary: $205,000–$280,000 annual.

What you will do

• Serve as primary legal counsel and strategic partner to the brand team for a marketed respiratory product.
• Provide legal advice on brand initiatives, tactics, and execution in accordance with FDA and FTC requirements.
• Review promotional, non-promotional, scientific, corporate, and product communications materials.
• Participate as the primary legal representative on commercial and medical review committees.
• Advise on anti-kickback, false claims, advertising, promotional, regulatory, and operational risks.
• Review commercial, medical affairs, and corporate communications contracts and coordinate matters handled by outside counsel.

Requirements

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Valid New Jersey license or eligibility for a limited in-house license.
• At least 5 years of related in-house legal experience representing life sciences companies.
• Experience with promotional and non-promotional review, regulatory matters, risk management, and contract management.
• Knowledge of FDA, FTC, business, contract, and life sciences laws and regulations.
• Strong judgment, discretion, analytical ability, risk assessment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
