Insurance Compliance & Regulatory Senior Lead (Insurance)

Location: 100% remote; full-time salaried employees must currently reside in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada.

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 base salary per year, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Lead investigations and de-escalation for critical customer complaints.
• Manage carrier audits and state Department of Insurance complaint workflows.
• Author, review, and finalize correspondence for regulators, carriers, and consumers.
• Maintain complaint logs, compliance controls, regulatory records, and audit-ready documentation.
• Partner with Legal, Product, and Engineering to turn complaint trends into product, automation, and process improvements.
• Guide and coach colleagues handling customer service, compliance, and claims support.

Requirements

• Active Property & Casualty license required, or willingness to obtain it quickly.
• 5+ years of insurance experience, including 3+ years in state insurance and regulatory compliance.
• Experience directly managing state regulatory inquiries and carrier audit relationships.
• Working knowledge of NAIC model regulations, state insurance codes, and market conduct examination standards.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong legal and compliance judgment.
• Analytical experience using data to improve products and operations.

Nice to have

• 2+ years in a team lead, managerial, or supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical leadership experience.
