Head of Legal

Location: Hybrid in commuting distance of the New York City or San Francisco offices, or willing to relocate to the United States. In-office Tuesdays and Thursdays plus one additional flexible day; some roles may require more office time.

Salary: $250,000–$310,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits.

hirify.global builds an AI-native ERP for modern finance teams, automating accounting workflows such as closing the books, revenue recognition, entity consolidation, and investor reporting.

What you will do

• Build hirify.global’s legal function, strategy, priorities, operating model, and scalable workflows.
• Advise the executive team and Board on strategic, legal, and risk considerations.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, SOWs, and partner contracts.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Revenue, and People teams on legal, compliance, employment, and product matters.
• Guide privacy, data protection, intellectual property, and AI regulatory work.
• Own corporate governance, equity administration, financing rounds, and Board matters.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as in-house counsel and at top-tier law firms.
• Experience operating in high-growth companies and scaling businesses from 150 to 500 employees.
• Generalist legal expertise, including corporate governance, equity, employment, commercial contracts, privacy, data protection, AI, and IP transactions.
• Pragmatic business judgment, strong risk communication, and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.
• Systems-oriented approach with experience using AI and automation to scale legal work.
• Active membership in a U.S. state bar and a license to practice law in California or New York.
