Software Developer II (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and cloud-platform features using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud Gateway.
• Build and operate services on AWS, contributing to architecture discussions for new backend capabilities.
• Improve SDLC practices, CI/CD, testing, deployment, code reviews, and engineering automation.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues, participate in on-call support, and resolve root causes.
• Handle secure transport and credential-related work, including certificate validation and encryption near native components.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, evaluate generated code for correctness and security, and help design AI-powered developer tooling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in cloud or backend development, including 5+ years with Java and Spring Boot or similar technologies.
• Experience building production services and understanding microservices architecture and containerization with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including technologies such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC, problem-solving ability, independent work, and cross-functional collaboration.
• English at High B2 or C1 level and availability to work remotely from Colombia.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio.
• Experience with C++ or native Windows development.
