Software Engineer (Java, Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain pay-in and pay-out infrastructure for high-volume financial transactions.
• Architect Kafka-based event-driven pipelines and workflows with strong guarantees for correctness, ordering, and resilience.
• Lead architecture discussions, define technical patterns, and set engineering standards for the payment domain.
• Write clean, tested, high-performance Java code and improve quality through code reviews and engineering practices.
• Monitor services, investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve observability through metrics, logs, and traces.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders while mentoring engineers and contributing to technical knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Production experience developing Java backend systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, including event sourcing, CQRS, sagas, and Apache Kafka.
• Experience designing distributed, fault-tolerant microservices for financial or similarly critical transactional data.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear written and spoken English is required for communication with engineering, product, and leadership stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with payment rails, reconciliation, or idempotent transaction processing.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or CodeRabbit.
