Marine Industrial Electrician

Location: Torrance, California, United States; full-time on-site at the Los Angeles headquarters. Travel to partner shipyards and customer sites may be required for up to 20% of the time.

Salary: $46–$50 per hour, plus equity grants and semi-annual bonuses.

hirify.global is electrifying the marine industry by developing electric powertrains, software, and vessel designs for consumer, commercial, and defense applications.

What you will do

• Install and commission high- and low-voltage electrical systems on commercial vessels, including batteries, power distribution, propulsion, charging, and vessel controls.
• Build and wire control panels, switchgear, junction boxes, shore power systems, charging infrastructure, harnesses, conduit, cable trays, hangers, and penetrations.
• Read schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and interconnect drawings while identifying opportunities to improve designs and processes.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, HiPot, and functional checks, supporting commissioning, dock trials, and sea trials.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems to the component level using multimeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, and related tools.
• Partner with Build Engineering, support repeatable work instructions, and lead safe energized work practices including LOTO, hirify.global-flash boundaries, and PPE use.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an industrial, marine, or commercial electrician, or a recognized apprenticeship with journeyman-level experience.
• Hands-on high-voltage experience, preferably with DC systems, and the ability to work from electrical schematics, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, hydraulic crimpers, calibrated torque tools, meggers, and multimeters.
• Working knowledge of LOTO, hirify.global-flash safety, and NFPA 70E.
• Ability to stand and remain physically active for most of the shift and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR, such as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual.

Nice to have

• California General Electrician certification, journeyman card, or equivalent state licensure.
• Marine electrical experience and familiarity with IEEE 45, 46 CFR, ABS, or class society requirements.
• Experience with tugs, ferries, workboats, naval vessels, UL 508A control panels, or low-volume, high-mix build environments.
• Experience mentoring apprentices or junior technicians.
