Maintenance Operator (Manufacturing)

Location: Jackson, Tennessee, United States; onsite work in a 135,000-square-foot manufacturing plant

What you will do

• Provide daily mechanical and electrical maintenance support for equipment breakdowns and unavailability issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, completing shift work orders and PM work orders.
• Spend approximately 60% of working time on breakdowns and improvement projects and 40% on preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose process equipment issues and develop effective mechanical and electrical control abilities.
• Work with operations, supervisors, mentors, and engineers to resolve equipment issues and improve processes.
• Support team members learning equipment and processes while making independent decisions when required.

Requirements

• Current experience as a Maintenance Technician and working knowledge of modern automated manufacturing systems.
• Basic understanding of AC/DC motors, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills, plus basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web browsers.
• Ability to complete Fork Truck/Boom Lift certification and use required PPE, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
• Ability to walk throughout the plant, bend, stoop, crawl, climb a 15-foot ladder, and lift or pull at least 75 pounds.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, off shifts, abnormal shifts, and callouts is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with wire and cable processing equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting respool, twinning, bunching, primary extrusion using HDPE or FEP, jacketing, and associated auxiliary equipment.
