Director, AI Platform & Transformation (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Estimated pay range: $218,000–$284,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise AI platform and transformation roadmap, aligning initiatives with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Prioritize and lead AI opportunities across clinical operations, commercial, finance, customer care, manufacturing, quality, R&D, and other enterprise functions.
• Architect and scale AI applications using generative AI, LLMs, RAG, agents, workflow orchestration, and model evaluation.
• Partner with Data and Engineering to make governed data products, semantic definitions, metadata, lineage, and data quality usable by AI systems.
• Establish standards for reliability, security, privacy, testing, monitoring, observability, incident response, lifecycle management, autoscaling, performance, and cost control.
• Build business cases and governance playbooks, lead teams and strategic vendors, and drive AI literacy and adoption across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling AI software products for audiences ranging from thousands to millions of users.
• 4+ years of experience building generative AI systems, including model development, LLM fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, productionization, and monitoring.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, workflow orchestration, MLflow, and AWS Bedrock, plus experience with vLLM, Ray, Model Context Protocol, and Langfuse.
• 7+ years of professional Python experience and strong experience with PySpark, Spark Structured Streaming, PyTorch, Scala, and FastAPI.
• Experience building AI products and platforms for healthcare decision-making or healthcare clients, with professional experience in Databricks or Snowflake.
• 12 years of experience working in and with technology organizations, including 5 years in a leadership role, plus executive communication and cross-functional leadership experience.

Nice to have

• PhD in computer science, mathematics, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA-regulated environments, SOX, GDPR, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with AI governance, responsible-AI reviews, enterprise standards, AI literacy programs, strategic vendors, and build-versus-buy decisions.
