Senior Lead, AI Pricing & Margin Strategy (AI)

Location: New York City; hybrid work from the NYC office 2–3 days per week

Salary: $125,800–$170,200 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead margin analysis for AI usage, including API costs, token consumption, inference spend, and unit economics.
• Build financial models that translate AI usage into credit equivalents across model providers and product features.
• Design and evaluate credit-based and usage-based pricing models, tier structures, limits, overage mechanics, and promotional offers.
• Translate pricing strategy into SKU and entitlement definitions in partnership with Product and Billing.
• Partner with Finance, Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Billing to validate assumptions and monitor AI feature performance.
• Research AI model providers and competitor monetization approaches to inform pricing and packaging strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in pricing strategy, commercial analytics, product finance, management consulting, or a related analytical role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience building financial models from scratch and analyzing large-scale usage and cost data.
• Working familiarity with the LLM provider landscape, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, or Finance teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear, decision-ready analyses.
• Proactive approach to defining scope, asking questions, and driving work forward with limited direction.
