Data Engineer, VP - Systems and Data Engineering (Snowflake)

Expected annual base salary: $160,000–$225,000

What you will do

• Provide senior technical leadership for enterprise data engineering initiatives and influence architecture and technology decisions.
• Design, evolve, and operate Snowflake-based data platforms supporting ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery.
• Establish standards for ETL/ELT development, metadata management, lineage, observability, automation, and reusable data services.
• Improve data quality through automated validation, monitoring, remediation, governance, and quality metrics.
• Lead production support, root cause analysis, incident response, on-call escalation, and reliability improvements for 24x7 systems.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, governance, and business teams on roadmaps and platform investments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
• Significant hands-on experience with Snowflake in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in ETL/ELT architectures, data integration, orchestration frameworks, and modern data platforms.
• Experience supporting business-critical production systems in a 24x7 environment, including major incident response.
• Strong background in data quality, observability, monitoring, operational excellence, and platform reliability.
• Ability to influence engineering organizations through technical leadership without direct people management responsibility.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience with analytics, reporting, AI, and machine learning platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform automation.
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, metadata management, and financial-services regulatory requirements.
• Experience working across globally distributed engineering organizations.
