Sr. Data Engineer

Location: New York City, USA; hybrid schedule requiring work from the office at least four days per week

Salary: USD 115,000–145,000 yearly

Global media and entertainment company producing and distributing film, television, streaming, news, sports, and theme park content and experiences.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, testable data systems and pipelines.
• Ingest, cleanse, transform, and process large volumes of data from internal and external sources.
• Work with stakeholders to define business requirements, KPIs, and acceptance criteria.
• Build real-time and automated batch implementations with software and data architects.
• Maintain repositories, CI/CD deployments, peer reviews, and test automation.
• Use observability and advanced analytics to identify issues, diagnose failures, and develop fixes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience with big data, ETL, pipeline development, analysis, and programming.
• Experience building scalable, distributed, highly available, and resilient systems with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, or AWS.
• Strong SQL and data processing skills, plus experience with data visualization.
• Experience with software repositories, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, SRE practices, and cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies; knowledge of CDN-based streaming media delivery is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or similar data services.
• Experience working with multi-billion-record datasets and projects spanning data science and data engineering.
• Knowledge of enterprise-level digital analytics platforms.
• Experience with CDNs for streaming media delivery.
