Senior Director of Analytics Engineering

Location: Menlo Park, California, United States; minimum 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $292,000–$383,250 per year, plus equity and bonus opportunities

What you will do

• Lead and grow a 20+ person Analytics Engineering organization through team leads and managers.
• Set technical priorities and drive the development of an AI-ready data foundation with strong documentation, contracts, context, and governance.
• Build and maintain internal analytics agents, semantic layers, evaluation processes, orchestration instructions, and ground-truth datasets.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering workflows for model development, pull-request reviews, and root-cause analysis.
• Own finance-, revenue-, people-, and go-to-market analytics pipelines and serve as a primary escalation point for business stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, GTM, and Frontier Engineering teams on roadmaps, customer conversations, speaking engagements, and technical thought leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data architecture, including second-line leadership of managers or senior individual contributors.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake data modeling, governance, RBAC, row access policies, masking policies, Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Horizon, and Cortex.
• Expert-level dbt experience, including macro development, testing, CI/CD frameworks, and large-scale multi-team project management.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow or a similar orchestration platform and downstream BI or consumption layers such as Streamlit, Sigma, or Tableau.
• Experience owning finance- or revenue-critical data pipelines, GTM and sales analytics, master data management, quota and territory data, and large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Advanced use of AI-assisted engineering tools and agent frameworks, including agentic skill development and prompt engineering for data workflows.
