Lead Data Architect (Snowflake)

Location: Boston, United States. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship or restriction.

Base salary: $121,865–$164,875 per year

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise data architecture across policy, party, claims, billing, underwriting, and related domains.
• Design canonical, semantic, and medallion-style bronze, silver, and gold data models.
• Develop scalable ELT/ETL pipelines in Snowflake and modern cloud-native tools.
• Migrate legacy batch processes to automated, event-driven, and CDC-based ingestion patterns.
• Establish data quality, metadata, lineage, security, observability, resiliency, and recovery standards.
• Provide technical leadership, review architecture and code, mentor data engineering teams, and guide technology evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field.
• 5–10 years of experience in data architecture and data engineering, including technical leadership.
• Strong conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling expertise and enterprise architecture experience.
• Advanced ELT/ETL experience, cloud data warehouse expertise, and hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in large-scale data processing.
• Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship or restriction is required.

Nice to have

• Insurance industry experience.
• Snowflake certification.
• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, MDM, canonical modeling, and governance frameworks.
