Senior Cost Analyst (Manufacturing)

Location: Montréal, Quebec, Canada; office-based with occasional travel between facilities in Canada and the United States.

What you will do

• Develop and improve standard costing methodologies for materials, direct labor, manufacturing overhead, and production processes.
• Analyze manufacturing cost variances, productivity, capacity utilization, scrap, yield, and other operational cost drivers across three sites.
• Own inventory valuation, reconciliations, physical counts, cycle-count controls, and excess or obsolete inventory analysis.
• Support new product introductions by developing product cost estimates, BOM and routing costs, labor standards, and overhead allocations.
• Evaluate engineering changes, design modifications, pricing, profitability, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Provide cost assumptions and reporting for budgeting, forecasting, gross-margin analysis, month-end close, and operational decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3–5+ years of management or supervisory experience leading accounting teams.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing financial analysis, ERP systems, and manufacturing costing modules.
• Experience with annual budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, GAAP, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling.
• Experience supporting in-house and contract manufacturing operations is preferred; CPA, CMA, or another relevant accounting designation is an asset.
