Field Layout Engineer

What you will do

• Plan, establish, and maintain layout control for assigned construction projects.
• Set building corners, reference points, benchmarks, control lines, column centerlines, wall locations, and elevations.
• Verify structural steel alignment, slab elevations, construction tolerances, and exterior-skin clearances.
• Perform as-built surveys, identify field conflicts, and help maintain as-built drawings and project records.
• Coordinate shop drawings with contract drawings and propose solutions to discrepancies.
• Calculate earth, rock, and concrete quantities and maintain the care and calibration of engineering equipment.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in building layout using Total Station equipment.
• Graduation from a relevant trade school with a surveying certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship and employment visa sponsorship transfer are not available.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screening is required.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of Trimble and Nikon equipment.
• Basic understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
• Experience in general trade carpentry.
