Prior Authorization Specialist (Healthcare Billing)

Location: Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the Nashville, TN office; must live within a 75-minute commuting distance

What you will do

• Submit initial authorization requests and track them through final payor decisions before services begin.
• Manage new policy authorization requests when active clients experience coverage changes during treatment.
• Notify payors of non-admissions within contractual deadlines.
• Triage and prioritize daily worklog tasks in the revenue cycle management billing system.
• Complete ad hoc authorization and billing tasks to support department workflows and revenue capture.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in healthcare administration, specialized billing, prior authorizations, insurance verification, or claims management.
• Strong knowledge of prior authorization processes, payor portals, and medical billing practices.
• Experience with revenue cycle management billing systems and electronic task-queue triage.
• Knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality requirements and accurate handling of patient information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Must work four days per week in the Nashville office and live within a 75-minute commute.
