Coding Supervisor (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Remote within the United States; travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations may be required based on business needs.

Salary: $57,400–$86,100 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Supervise staffing, scheduling, workflow, productivity, and quality for coding and abstracting activities.
• Coach, develop, evaluate, and hold coding staff accountable for performance and policy compliance.
• Monitor coding goals related to accounts receivable and discharged-not-billed performance.
• Conduct routine audits and support coding education, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
• Serve as a coding resource for medical staff and management while resolving technical issues affecting the team.
• Assign accurate codes, modifiers, present-on-admission indicators, and DRGs when workload requires.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of coding experience in a professional-fee or acute-care setting, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, or provider coding.
• Leadership experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of DRGs, APR-DRGs, clinical documentation and query processes, electronic medical records, and medical terminology.
• At least one current professional certification is required, including CCS, CIC, COC, CPC, CPMA, RHIA, or RHIT.
• HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification is required, or must be completed within 9 months.
• Demonstrated advanced use of AI and experience managing teams using AI for process and technology improvements.
