Sr Weld Technician, First Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite, first shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM PT, Monday through Friday. The baseline expectation is a 50-hour workweek, including occasional overtime as needed.

Hiring range: $34.42–$51.63 USD per hour

What you will do

• Develop and perform GTAW weld processes with the weld development and engineering teams.
• Perform manual and semi-automated welding of aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and other relevant materials.
• Prepare, fit, align, assemble, and tack-weld parts and tooling; operate overhead cranes or forklifts to load and unload hardware.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and prepare parts for non-destructive evaluation while owning components from start to finish.
• Identify manufacturing defects, equipment problems, and production inefficiencies, then implement improvements with engineering.
• Help optimize the production shop floor using 5S principles and support a culture of safety, precision, and right-first-time manufacturing.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of GTAW welding experience with stainless steel, Inconel, aluminum, and/or titanium.
• Proficiency in material preparation and joint fitting for welding.
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to follow work instructions and part drawings.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Comfort using measuring and cutting tools.
• Ability to work onsite in Long Beach, California, on the first-shift schedule.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NDE processes such as dye penetrant testing, radiography, and ultrasonic inspection, including PAUT.
• Clean room experience.
