Sr. Engineering Specialist - Additive Manufacturing & Prototyping-A shift 9/17/26

Location: Shakopee, United States; onsite at the Shakopee campus

Base wage: $34.01–$49.56 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and optimize additive manufacturing and digital fabrication systems.
• Process internal prototyping requests, prepare build files, produce prototype parts, and track project schedules.
• Evaluate CAD models and select appropriate manufacturing processes based on project requirements.
• Operate FDM, SLS, MSLA, DLP, PolyJet, laser cutting, and laser engraving equipment.
• Perform post-processing, inspection, troubleshooting, material management, and machine utilization tracking.
• Support engineering teams with prototype development, design reviews, manufacturability recommendations, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in additive manufacturing, 3D printing, or digital fabrication.
• Experience operating technical equipment and following detailed procedures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and ability to interpret CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 40 pounds and work around manufacturing equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to safely handle chemicals, powders, resins, and other additive manufacturing materials.

Nice to have

• Associate or two-year STEM degree in engineering technology, manufacturing technology, mechanical design, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing technologies, laser systems, CAD software, or prototype labs.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing materials, post-processing, quality inspection, and metrology tools.
