Advanced Manufacturing Maintenance Specialist (CNC/Robotics)

Location: Long Beach or Torrance, California, United States. The role requires frequent factory presence, potentially up to 100% of the workday.

Salary: $36–$66 per hour, depending on specialist level.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve CNC machines, industrial robots, automation cells, and advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, CNC, and robotics failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, calibration methods, troubleshooting workflows, and equipment operating standards.
• Optimize PLC logic, CNC controls, robot programs, motion-control systems, safety systems, and automation interfaces.
• Analyze equipment performance, failure modes, maintenance history, and production data to improve reliability, throughput, quality, and cost.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, ramp-up, documentation, supplier coordination, and technician mentoring.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or an associate degree with equivalent maintenance technician experience; strong equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machine tools, industrial robotics, automated manufacturing systems, or advanced production equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with CNC controls, PLCs, industrial robots, motion control, and automated systems.
• Experience working with advanced manufacturing equipment in a factory or production environment.
• Ability to work autonomously, use maintenance and diagnostic tools, interpret technical documentation, and collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-axis machining centers, turning centers, precision machining, or integrated robotic manufacturing cells.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, or similar platforms.
• Experience with servo motors, drives, encoders, safety circuits, industrial networks, vision systems, or automated material handling.
• Experience with installation, commissioning, alignment, calibration, equipment qualification, or predictive maintenance.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, high-precision manufacturing, or metal additive manufacturing.
