Manager - Standards, Versant Media (News Standards)

Location: Washington, D.C.; must be willing and able to work in the office. Unrestricted work authorization in the United States is required.

Salary: USD 130,000–180,000 per year, with bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Support editorial policies and standards for MS NOW, CNBC, and related digital, broadcast, and streaming programming.
• Provide real-time guidance on breaking news, crisis coverage, scripts, packages, shows, digital articles, social videos, podcasts, and promos.
• Partner with journalists, editors, producers, and reporters on sourcing, fact-checking, storytelling, accuracy, fairness, and transparency.
• Assess reporting from external organizations and collaborate with legal and rights-and-clearances teams when needed.
• Manage corrections, retractions, complaints, and challenges to published content.
• Monitor and address misinformation and disinformation threats; participate in monthly weekend on-call duties.

Requirements

• 10+ years of journalism experience across broadcast, cable, digital, or print.
• Deep experience in political and business or financial journalism, with extensive knowledge of U.S. government agencies.
• Exceptional news and editorial judgment, writing ability, and knowledge of traditional and emerging storytelling formats.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels in a deadline-driven environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Must be willing and able to work in the Washington, D.C. office and have unrestricted U.S. work authorization.

Nice to have

• Investigative journalism experience.
• Familiarity with digital journalism and social media standards and practices.
• Ability to handle confidential material with discretion.
