Autonomy Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available, and the role requires up to 10% travel. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $97,530–$158,480 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize motion, navigation, path, and terrain planning algorithms for autonomous machines.
• Develop and maintain C++ software libraries, APIs, interfaces, and reusable planning frameworks.
• Collaborate with autonomy, perception, controls, simulation, and software platform teams to define requirements and evaluate system performance.
• Create test scenarios and support simulation, testing, and validation by analyzing field and test data.
• Contribute to scalable planning architectures adaptable to different machine types, environments, objectives, and constraints.
• Apply robotics, optimization, controls, and autonomous-systems expertise to solve complex engineering problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in robotics engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience developing robotics or autonomous solutions and working with complex software systems.
• Strong C++ development skills and proficiency in Python for algorithm development, testing, and automation.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks and middleware, including Robot Operating System (ROS).
• Experience with software architecture, technical specifications, debugging, profiling, log analysis, root-cause investigation, and structured software engineering practices.
• Full-time onsite work at the Irving, Texas office is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
