Senior Software Engineer, Robotics

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support advanced robotic manipulation software deployed in production.
• Build high-performance solutions for motion planning, kinematics, control strategies, and motion execution.
• Extend simulation environments to test and refine manipulation capabilities for robust performance.
• Integrate robotic capabilities into broader systems in collaboration with hardware engineers, product managers, and software teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Communicate technical priorities and project status clearly and proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• At least 4 years of professional software development experience in a production environment.
• Strong Python development skills and understanding of parallel or distributed systems and asynchronous or concurrent programming.
• Experience designing software and algorithms for motion planning, motion execution, multi-arm coordination, robotic kinematics, or environment representation.
• Experience developing RESTful interfaces or gRPC services and clients, with familiarity with system design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, Jira, and automated unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or 6+ years of production software development experience.
• Experience with ROS or ROS2, robotic hardware drivers, and robotic arm integration.
• Familiarity with robotics simulation tools, Linux, Python’s asyncio library, C++, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
