Commercial Underwriting Counsel (Real Estate Title Insurance)

Location: Remote within the USA, California

Salary: $97,700–$130,300 annually

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization for title insurance commitments and policies.
• Underwrite real estate title insurance within delegated authority limits and established standards.
• Guide company personnel through real estate settlement services.
• Develop and issue underwriting standards and guidelines through established company processes.
• Collaborate with personnel, agents, and customers while making decisive underwriting recommendations.

Requirements

• Law degree required.
• Admission to practice law and an active license in good standing in the state of employment.
• 5–7 years of title underwriting experience.
• Familiarity with real estate law and title insurance settlement processes.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to title insurance and settlement services.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
