Associate General Counsel, Servicing & Title (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel required; candidates must reside in one of hirify.global’s states of operation in the United States. Select roles may require onsite work at the Palo Alto office one day per week.

Annual base salary: $176,700–$234,150, depending on geographic tier, skills, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal partner for servicing, post-closing, funding, and investor operations across the homeowner lifecycle.
• Draft and maintain contract amendments, homeowner communications, disclosures, and state-specific servicing requirements.
• Advise on title, lien perfection, recording, corrective instruments, title claims, and collateral-related exposure.
• Support escalations involving senior liens, tax sales, condemnation, casualty claims, bankruptcy, delinquent taxes, defaults, and enforcement.
• Retain and direct outside counsel and coordinate with subservicers, title vendors, product, engineering, and design teams.
• Build legal playbooks, templates, self-service guidance, and AI-assisted workflows for document review, disclosure comparison, and matter triage.

Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction; California admission is preferred.
• Eligibility for in-house practice in the state of domicile.
• 7+ years of legal experience in mortgage, consumer finance, residential real estate-secured lending, or related servicing matters.
• Hands-on experience with title, lien priority, recording, lien perfection, title insurance, and state-by-state legal variation.
• Working knowledge of RESPA/Regulation X, TILA/Regulation Z, FDCPA/Regulation F, FCRA, ECOA/Regulation B, TCPA, SCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, and state servicing, licensing, and debt collection requirements.
• Must reside in one of the company’s states of operation in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, title claims, or a novel consumer financial product.
• Experience building legal playbooks, templates, intake processes, service levels, or legal AI workflows.
