Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Python)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Salary: US$119,000–$150,000 annually for US-based employees, plus eligibility for bonus or commission and equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services for the Third Party Risk Management business.
• Own loosely defined features from technical design through completion.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize REST APIs.
• Deliver well-tested, high-quality code in a continuous delivery environment.
• Collaborate with a multicultural engineering team to improve software delivery and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Five years of experience building and maintaining SaaS applications.
• Strong experience with Python and modern frameworks and technologies such as Django, FastAPI, Flask, and SQLAlchemy.
• Experience with CI/CD and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud computing environments such as AWS.
• Experience building and optimizing REST APIs.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building and rolling out internal coding agents, including automated code review or ticket-to-merge workflows.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
