Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States. San Francisco office-based roles require onsite work four days per week.

Salary: $150,000–$224,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop large-scale progressive and single-page web applications that streamline radiology workflows.
• Build Python and FastAPI backend services, REST APIs, and machine learning pipeline services.
• Deliver features for a growing customer base and support integrations that turn clinical data into actionable workflows.
• Write secure, maintainable, high-performance code for a large-scale HIPAA web environment.
• Collaborate with Product Management, ML, Data Science, Customer Success, and internal and external stakeholders.
• Improve product quality, security, performance, code review practices, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience with single- and multi-tenant environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Python and FastAPI, or equivalent modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience with relational and document databases, large-scale data storage, modern web architecture, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Experience diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization issues at scale.
• Experience working on distributed teams and strong Git version control skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, reliability, and security.

Nice to have

• PostgreSQL experience.
• Experience with third-party integrations such as Auth0 and Amplitude.
• Early-stage startup experience.
• Experience in a HIPAA-compliant environment, especially with FHIR and HL7.
• Machine learning experience.
