Safety Specialist - Millersport/Central Ohio

Location: Westerville, Ohio; field support for projects in Millersport/Central Ohio

What you will do

• Provide field support and help implement company and client safety and health policies.
• Develop injury-prevention strategies, safety plans, emergency response plans, and pre-job hazard assessments.
• Lead safety meetings, training programs, and communications for company personnel and field teams.
• Conduct and document safety audits, evaluations, inspections, and behavioral observations.
• Investigate injuries, illnesses, and general liability incidents, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, vendors, third-party personnel, and regulatory authorities such as OSHA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• 3–6+ years of construction safety and health experience preferred; all experience levels may be considered with adjusted responsibilities.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and applicable state and federal safety regulations.
• Strong communication, presentation, organization, prioritization, and independent judgment skills.
• Ability to work in a high-production environment for 50+ hours per week, including nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Nice to have

• Experience with heavy civil, industrial, highway, bridge, utility, water and wastewater, or marine construction projects.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification.
