Safety Advisor

Location: Southborough, Massachusetts, United States. Travel is required primarily within Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, with occasional travel beyond the assigned region. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and location.

Salary: $93,800–$104,220 per year, commensurate with experience, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Administer regulatory compliance and incident prevention activities for electric, gas, fleet, warehouse, and related operations.
• Advise managers and supervisors on occupational safety, safe work practices, hazard elimination, and decision-making.
• Conduct safety observations, field inspections, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
• Develop and deliver safety training, coaching employees and supporting the Training Department.
• Create and implement improvement plans, safety procedures, incident prevention programs, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Provide field safety support during emergencies, including mutual-aid contractor onboarding and emergency restoration assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in operational activities.
• Thorough understanding of company safety rules and knowledge of construction site safety.
• Knowledge of electric overhead, underground, substation, distribution, supply, and system operations practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, federal OSHA and DOT regulations, and state public safety requirements for electric and gas industries.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered.

Nice to have

• National Safety Council Advanced Safety Certificate, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or other safety-related certifications.
