Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics

Location: Los Angeles, California; candidates should reside within a commutable distance of the territory. The role combines work from home for virtual estimates with in-person appointments at body shops and customer locations using a mobile office or vehicle. Candidates may occasionally work outside the assigned territory and must be available for flexible shifts, overtime, or irregular hours.

Salary: $69,398.62–$91,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Collect vehicle information from repair shops and customers and prepare initial and supplemental repair estimates from photographs or in-person inspections.
• Use automated estimating systems to evaluate vehicle damage and create repair estimates.
• Assess repairability, market value factors, bid content, photo documentation, and causation issues.
• Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair matters.
• Answer customer and repair shop calls and provide professional support throughout the claims process.
• Conduct virtual and in-person inspections, including interactions with customers who may have strong concerns about claim resolutions.

Requirements

• Experience in auto collision repair, auto damage estimating, and/or auto insurance appraisal.
• Excellent customer service, critical thinking, decision-making, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask across technical platforms and demonstrate accountability and resourcefulness.
• Physical agility for stooping, bending, and some lifting while evaluating vehicle damage.
• A valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing examinations, Motor Vehicle Record checks, background checks, and applicable pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License.
• Knowledge of CCC One or Mitchell.
• I-CAR Platinum Certification.
