Claims Consultant Leave & Disability

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $63,470–$105,800 USD annual base salary, plus potential incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Manage complex and non-complex disability and leave claims accurately and within required timelines.
• Represent the company in depositions and arbitrations and act as a liaison between legal teams and claims operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on STD, statutory, FMLA, PPL, PFL, and other paid and unpaid leave policies.
• Mentor claims staff and support consistent claim-handling practices.
• Analyze claims data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights based on client needs.
• Support service-level agreements, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional special projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in claims management, including STD, FMLA, PPL, or PFL claims.
• At least 2 years of experience with client escalation and resolution strategies.
• Strong decision-making, critical thinking, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
