Specialist - Engineering/Controls Technician – Brentwood, TN

Location: Brentwood, Tennessee, United States; onsite. Management may consider other locations within the division/support area. Travel is required up to 40–50% on average, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.

What you will do

• Support automation systems for natural gas compressor stations, including gas turbines, reciprocating engines, centrifugal compressors, and ancillary equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC programs, HMI systems, SCADA data transfers, compressor controls, unit trips, failed starts, and improper equipment operation.
• Provide technical input during capital project scoping, design reviews, commissioning, and implementation of automation standards.
• Maintain and improve plant systems, identify reliability opportunities, and support corrective actions from vendor technical bulletins.
• Support emissions testing, environmental compliance, predictive maintenance activities, and third-party technical work.
• Train and advise Operations Specialists and site leadership on plant operations and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience supporting industrial automation operations, maintenance, or capital projects.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, including ladder logic, function block programming, structured text, and Rockwell RSLogix-5/5000.
• Experience with HMI development and troubleshooting; WonderWare HMI/SCADA or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of natural gas compression facilities, rotating machinery, electrical distribution, NEC, DOT Part 192, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.
• Must be able to speak and understand English. Must tolerate outdoor work, confined spaces, elevated platforms, physical lifting, emergency callouts, and response outside normal working hours.

Nice to have

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, computer science, electronics, or computer technology.
• Experience with compressor station or industrial facility startup and commissioning.
• Industrial automation project management experience.
