Controls Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; field service travel required up to 75% across the United States and internationally.

What you will do

• Install, test, commission, diagnose, and troubleshoot control systems on FMD engine lines.
• Work independently on qualified engines and develop solutions to technical problems.
• Complete service reports, condition-found reports, maintenance documentation, timecards, and expense reports.
• Communicate with customers, regional offices, managers, sales representatives, and internal teams.
• Maintain service equipment, vehicles, PPE, company property, and required certifications.
• Travel for scheduled, emergency, weekend, evening, holiday, and short-notice service assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, plus either an associate degree and four years of related experience or four years of related experience including electrical or motion controls experience.
• Experience with electrical systems, electrical test equipment, mechanical and electrical diagrams, automation troubleshooting, pneumatic controls, PLCs, HMIs, and engine controls.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, RSLogix, PanelBuilder, FactoryTalk View ME, generators, sensors, relays, solenoids, and related signal systems.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to pass a background check and drug screen, and eligibility for a company credit card.
• Must hold a valid U.S. Passport or obtain one within three months of hire.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship is required for NOFORN access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of two- and four-stroke engine operating theory.
• Understanding of gas compression and related hazards.
• Prior FMD Associate Controls Specialist experience.
