Shop Mechanic B Tech

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. Onsite shop role with a regular Monday–Friday shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM MDT.

Salary: $21.90–$32.80 per hour. A second stated pay range is $23.55–$32.40 per hour, depending on hiring locality.

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel trucks, refuse bodies, chassis, and related vehicle systems.
• Service hydraulic, electrical, air brake, suspension, drivetrain, steering, engine, HVAC, and transmission components.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, basic tire work, welding, and fabrication.
• Diagnose multi-system malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
• Provide safe road service and return equipment to operation efficiently.
• Complete company training and perform other related maintenance duties.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a technician role diagnosing and repairing gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, or graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next three months.
• Experience or knowledge maintaining light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including Class 1–5 and Class 7–8 vehicles, or aircraft or ships.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and perform basic inspections on suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work the stated evening and overnight shift in Colorado Springs.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.
