Team Lead - Embedded Software

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota; onsite Monday through Thursday with a flexible work location on Fridays

Annual base salary: $119,800–$170,135

What you will do

• Manage, mentor, supervise, and develop direct reports across project teams.
• Develop, document, and implement embedded software standards, guidelines, and best practices for Linux and RTOS platforms.
• Improve software development and testing processes through feedback, retrospectives, industry research, and process adherence.
• Promote software reuse and modularity through clear interface definitions for internal and external development partners.
• Support strategic planning, capability roadmaps, training needs, resource allocation, and technology strategies.
• Align development team objectives with broader organizational goals while contributing technically to embedded controls projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical field with relevant experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in controls, electronics, systems, or software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in people or technical leadership.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps and their integration with embedded build systems.
• Ability to develop, document, and enforce coding and process standards for embedded software.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a small team of engineers.

• Experience automating processes.
• Knowledge of compressors, engines, or power electronics.
