TL;DR
Maintenance Electromechanic Technician - 2nd Shift (Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance): Maintaining and troubleshooting electromechanical production and facility equipment at a manufacturing foundry with an accent on electrical systems, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance. Focus on diagnosing complex control-system issues, minimizing production downtime, wiring and calibrating equipment, and applying lean tools to improve safety and reliability.

Location: Charter Casting, 2900 E Richmond St, Shawano, Wisconsin 54166, United States; onsite, 2nd shift Monday–Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to midnight

Salary: Starting at $36 per hour, based on experience and education.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, modify, adjust, and maintain electromechanical production equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibration, and repairs on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and control systems.
  • Diagnose PLCs, drives, motion controllers, motors, and other sophisticated production-line controls to minimize downtime.
  • Read and maintain wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, manuals, and inspection documentation.
  • Update and install wiring, fabricate temporary replacement parts, and manage maintenance parts through the CMMS.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures while applying lean tools to improve equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; a free GED program is available.
  • Electrical apprenticeship, two years of technical training with at least two years of industrial electromechanical experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, technical procedures, safety rules, codes, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution, drives, controls, PLCs, motors, electrical theory, and electrical codes.
  • Basic hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical testing, precision measurement, metalworking, and welding or torch-equipment experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, stand and walk frequently, and work safely with lockout/tagout procedures.

Nice to have

  • Journeyman's card or relevant industry certifications.
  • Foundry or metals-industry experience.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and drives, AC/DC motor maintenance, HVAC systems, industrial electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
