Maintenance Technician II (Manufacturing)

Location: Schertz, Texas, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Salary: $29.50–$34.17 per hour, plus a 7% second-shift premium

Manufactures engines and industrial power systems for construction, mining, marine, petroleum, electric generation, locomotive, and other applications.

What you will do

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production, material-handling, and automated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, forklifts, robotic equipment, and assembly systems.
• Troubleshoot industrial electricity systems, motors, sensors, PLCs, remote I/O, servo drives, and variable-frequency drives.
• Respond to service requests independently while minimizing production interruptions.
• Train Level I maintenance technicians and collaborate with engineering, operations, logistics, quality, and environmental health and safety teams.
• Document work orders, parts inventory, equipment history, continuous improvement actions, and safety issues.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial or electrical production equipment, or a relevant certification or degree in lieu of experience.
• Intermediate experience with hand and power tools, lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, gears, reducers, bearings, drive components, and equipment alignment.
• Familiarity with photo sensors, PLCs, remote I/O, servo drives, and variable-frequency drives.
• Ability to work prolonged periods standing or sitting, perform repetitive operations, and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Successful completion of background, drug, and medical screening is required; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AC/DC theory, relays, switches, solenoids, fuses, breakers, 480V three-phase power, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, the National Electrical Code, and motor protection.
• Experience with conveyors, robotic equipment, ASRS, AKL, automated guided vehicles, mechanical and building blueprints, and electrical schematics.
• Experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
