Lead Program Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Location: Remote with project-based travel, including travel to sites and up to 25% travel.

Salary: $121,680–$176,436 per year.

What you will do

• Coordinate program engineering across solar, wind, battery storage, gas generation, transmission, and data center infrastructure.
• Align internal engineering teams, third-party design firms, clients, and project stakeholders through design and construction.
• Lead design reviews, manage RFIs and design changes, and support commissioning and as-built documentation.
• Oversee engineering schedules, budgets, material takeoffs, procurement deliverables, and Engineer of Record approvals.
• Coordinate civil, structural, geotechnical, hydrology, survey, SWPPP, and electrical engineering activities.
• Perform value engineering, assess cost impacts, and ensure compliance with ASTM, OSHA, NESC, NEC, NFPA, and other applicable standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related engineering from an ABET-accredited college.
• Six or more years of progressive engineering, engineering supervision, construction, or field experience in heavy civil, industrial, utilities, or power generation.
• Strong communication, decision-making, resource planning, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
• Ability to travel for project-based purposes, estimated at up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training or Fundamentals of Engineering certification.
• Combined renewable energy and gas generation experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure with an electrical engineering emphasis.
• Advanced knowledge of power plant construction equipment and practices.
