Machine Operator (CNC)

What you will do

• Operate CNC machinery, including drills and saws, in a steel plant.
• Measure finished steel structures using precision instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Adjust machine feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and controls to address operating issues.
• Modify and save cutting programs and enter control instructions into machine control units.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and handle workpieces manually or with hoists and cranes.

Requirements

• Previous machine operation experience is required; the role is classified as entry level.
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports, schedules, blueprints, and a tape measure.
• Basic math aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must complete on-site training and demonstrate safe machinery operation.

Nice to have

• Certification or prior experience operating moving machinery such as cranes.
