Technical Program Lead, Public Sector (AI)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; willingness to travel at least 25% of the time is required.

Salary: $199,200–$249,000 USD base salary per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor Technical Program Managers across key technical delivery areas.
• Own the technical shape of complex public sector programs, including product integration, extensions, and bespoke development decisions.
• Plan and sequence releases with engineering teams, manage technical risk, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
• Translate operational needs into delivery decisions and serve as the senior technical voice for government stakeholders and end users.
• Transition AI/ML technologies into working public sector products, including computer vision and generative AI solutions.
• Set technical direction for cross-functional engineering, operations, and delivery teams while identifying reusable capabilities and managing long-term customer risks.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 7+ years of experience in stakeholder management or customer-facing roles.
• Experience leading or mentoring program managers, engineers, or other technical staff.
• Experience owning technical delivery for complex, multi-workstream programs with senior government or enterprise stakeholders.
• Technical background in computer science, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related field, with deep understanding of MLOps and working knowledge of software delivery pipelines and DevOps principles.
• Structured, analytics-driven problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of professional experience in customer-facing technical program management in industry or government.
• Experience in a Department of War, Intelligence Community, or combatant command operational environment.
• Experience delivering technical platforms or products used by other teams.
• Hands-on fluency with Python, SQL, and modern AI/ML tooling.
