What you will do

• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with clients, SSPs, and ad tech ecosystem partners.
• Direct global IP litigation strategy, including patent enforcement, infringement analysis, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide legal counsel on the development of AI-driven features, bidding algorithms, and data integrations.
• Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patentability assessments and trademark protection.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to ensure compliance with evolving AI and privacy regulations.
• Develop automated workflows to streamline internal legal compliance and contract management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in Canada or the United States.
• 6+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house and 3 years in complex litigation.
• Strong understanding of the ad tech ecosystem, including DSPs, SSPs, and programmatic advertising principles.
• Proven ability to manage complex IP strategy and commercial negotiations in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated appetite for adopting AI and automation tools to drive legal efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification.
• Experience with AI-related legal and governance issues in martech or similar platforms.
• Fluency with AI and automation tools in a modern legal function.
