Legal Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Sofia; candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the EU

hirify.global provides a global spend management platform combining company cards, reimbursable expenses, accounts payable, and automation for scaling businesses.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve legal processes, contract lifecycle management, approval workflows, document storage, and reporting.
• Use AI tools to streamline contract review, drafting, intake, and other legal workflows.
• Draft, negotiate, and execute client, partner, vendor, supplier, and data processing agreements.
• Support commercial negotiations, contract disputes, cancellations, breaches, and regulatory or third-party requests.
• Develop template agreements, legal playbooks, fallback positions, standard vendor terms, and self-service approval processes.
• Advise the business on employment matters, data protection, payment services, and general legal questions.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer or equivalent legal qualification with 5 or more years of post-qualification experience.
• Significant in-house legal experience in a technology business, ideally in regulated fintech or financial services.
• Generalist experience across commercial and client contracts, vendor contracts, data protection, disputes, and employment matters.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, with EU and UK exposure required; US exposure is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve legal efficiency and ability to work independently in a lean legal function.
• Working knowledge of EU PSD2, UK PSRs, GDPR, and CCPA, or the ability to quickly develop expertise in a regulated environment.

• Experience advising on payment services and EMI regulatory matters.
• Arbitration and mediation experience.
• US legal or regulatory exposure.
