Associate Counsel (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY (hybrid); office attendance required on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hybrid roles are based in Austin, New York City, or Salt Lake City.

Compensation: $175,000–$200,000 target OTE, consisting of base salary and a performance-based bonus, plus equity.

What you will do

• Oversee legal aspects of customer documentation and capital markets technology products with the VP of Legal and Sales team.
• Draft and negotiate SaaS and other customer agreements.
• Review and negotiate documentation for technology platform services and Capital Solutions products.
• Monitor industry trends and legal and regulatory market changes.
• Build scalable legal processes and provide practical guidance aligned with commercial objectives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience drafting and negotiating capital markets and finance agreements, including asset-backed facilities.
• Experience with standard closing documentation and capital markets transaction participants.
• JD degree from a top-tier law school and admission to the New York bar in good standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with a flexible, positive, and team-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• Fintech experience or in-house experience at a bank or financial institution.
• Proficiency with AI tools.
