Counsel, Commercial Transactions (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role in Fort Lee, New Jersey, United States; 4 days per week required in person at the office

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise management on IT/SaaS, sponsorship, general contracts, and other commercial matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with customers, suppliers, vendors, payers, clients, and technology licensors.
• Support due diligence and manage closing documents for ventures, passive investments, and acquisitions.
• Develop commercial transaction documents across business lines.
• Advise on legal issues related to artificial intelligence, including AI implementation in the legal department and AI-related vendor and transaction contracts.
• Partner with compliance, technology, risk, operations, and business stakeholders to support enterprise initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree and admission to a New York or New Jersey State Bar.
• 8+ years of experience as an attorney, including experience at a recognized U.S. law firm or in-house at a financial institution, fintech, or technology company.
• Excellent knowledge of contract law and experience with general contracts, non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and SaaS agreements.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, communication, advocacy, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sensitive or urgent matters independently under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work in the Fort Lee office 4 days per week in a hybrid arrangement.
