Senior Localization Team Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of in-house Localization Specialists through feedback, performance conversations, and data-driven quality improvements.
• Manage the full lifecycle of an external freelancer network, including sourcing, onboarding, quality standards, communication, and offboarding.
• Translate business goals into localization execution plans and connect localization specialists, project managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Validate strategic priorities against team capacity and market realities.
• Own complex localization initiatives, including new market launches and AI-human review models.
• Identify root causes of quality and delivery issues, resolve performance anomalies, and implement sustainable process improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in localization, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing in-house linguists.
• Hands-on experience as a translator, editor, or proofreader.
• Experience coordinating freelancers or external contributors across multiple markets.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with quality scores, OKR trends, and delivery data.
• Ability to collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Engineering stakeholders.
• Proficiency with CAT tools, project management systems, and AI platforms such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI search readiness, structured data, entity optimization, or AI crawler monitoring.
• Familiarity with SurferSEO, Accuranker, or related SEO tools.
• Experience in or alongside high-growth, multi-locale product companies.
